Hello Classmates from your Reunion Planning Committee. Great things lay in store for us at our “55 at 55” Reunion. We are putting together two great days of fun and seeing old friends. Even more importantly, we are doing so with the most economical approaches possible.
Our goal is to gather as many of our classmates as we can assemble. This reunion will be a wonderful opportunity to visit with those friends with whom we have stayed in touch, and those who we haven’t seen for years. Really enjoyable and nostalgic! We are working hard to make this a record-breaking turnout.
Here’s what is going on so far:
The main dinner party will be at the Doubletree Hotel, 4009 Valley View Lane (off LBJ) Saturday night, March 20. (Click here for hotel information & map.) Ticket prices have been held to only $49 per person, thanks to the underwriting generosity of a number of our classmates.
We’re having an auction at the dinner party. The auction will consist of class memorabilia and items of value. We need your help to really make this fun. Please contribute something of value, which will be an enjoyable item for others to bid on. Proceeds go to help defray the cost of the weekend. Kindly call Merilyn Loyd Cranford to advise what you can donate and make arrangements for it to arrive at the dinner. Her phone number is (254-898-0233).
We plan to have an informal get together in the bar area at the Doubletree around 6:00 pm Friday, March 19 and activities are being considered for Saturday. The hotel committee has negotiated a room rate of only $72.00 per night. We hope as many people as possible will take this opportunity to have a get-away, and will come join us at the hotel. The hotel will cater to special diets with prior notice.
We are attempting to contact each and every member of our class by telephone. We are doing this to personally invite you to the Reunion, and stress the importance of having as many of us as possible in attendance. Many of you have already been called. We do hope you will make a strong effort to be with us.
In the event some might have trouble with the price of a dinner ticket, please call Betty Kelly Orand at (214) 368-0505, with assurance of total confidentiality. She will make a ticket available for you. Betty is this year’s treasurer. You can contact her to register for the reunion.
We are striving to make this our best-attended reunion yet. Please help us by planning to be present!
